Today is not only THIRSTday, it's also our Parent-Teacher Conference Day at school.
That means we work from 8 in the morning until 8 at night.
As librarian, I don't usually have any conferences to attend, except for my own children...
but I really enjoy having the entire day to work in the library and to visit classroom teachers, to collaborate, to plan, and
to have Pumpkin Spice Lattes in the library.
It's my fifth year at this school and my fourth in the library. I've made these lattes every year on this day so it is definitely a tradition! :)
I love enticing teachers to visit my library by offering a crockpot full of delicious lattes for them to sample when they have a moment. I think it's a nice treat and break for them. It also gives me the opportunity to talk shop with them; find out what they're teaching and offer ways I can help/enhance the units of study.
So, I plan on enjoying a mug or two of (skinny) Pumpkin Spice Lattes and maybe...just maybe...I might finish this amazing graphic novel I'm loving so much!
(By the way, this is the recipe: I multiply it by 16 to use a gallon of Fat Free Milk and fill my crockpot. I also serve the coffee on the side for teachers to create their own blend: weak, strong, or coffee free.)
