...that one time at Google Chicago... #DigCitChi
Oh. Em. Gee. I’m at @Google! So excited to spend the day learning more about their Digital Citizenship curriculum! #BeInternetAwesome pic.twitter.com/wf3js3DM6I— Sherry Gick ; (@sherryngick) December 4, 2017
The day was filled with leading speakers in the digital citizenship field, led and organized by Connor Regan, the #BeInternetAwesome Program lead at Google.
We had the opportunity to learn from:
- Kristen Eng from LEAP Learning
- Jen Hanley from FOSI
- Larry Magid from Connect Safely
- Joe Du Fore from Newline Education
- and of course, Connor Regan!
Ending with a panel discussion of all of today’s awesome speakers! #DigCitChi pic.twitter.com/R5WT4h2DyB— Sherry Gick ; (@sherryngick) December 4, 2017
I really loved listening to Connor speak and especially appreciated his stance on libraries:
Here’s what I ❤️: every time @ConnorRegan has shared at #DigCitChi today, he’s mentioned LIBRARIES (both school & public). Thank you @google for recognizing their importance! #FutureReadyLibs #ISTELib #TLChat pic.twitter.com/G2SFNFM0cL— Sherry Gick ; (@sherryngick) December 4, 2017

And connected with my Indiana colleagues too!
The day also included amazing food and a tour of the Google building. Needless to say, I would LOVE to work there!I'm thrilled that #INeLearn had several districts represented at #digcitCHI today! Can't wait to talk about next steps in #GEGindiana! #BeInternetAwesome pic.twitter.com/pFsqvpAhbI— Michelle R. Green (@mrg_3) December 4, 2017
My snapchat story from the day with all of my pics & videos:
Many many thanks to Google and their partners for an incredible day of learning. I hope to return again soon and look forward to sharing what I have learned with the many schools I work with in Indiana.
