Getting Dotty around here...

We're gearing up for a full week of Dot day fun in the library, September 16-20!

Today I sat surrounded by technology, snacks, and my Dot Day schedule (with my foot propped up, of course) and began to pull together the final pieces.

Some of our preliminary activities this week and next include:

Sharing the interactive version of The Dot on the big screen...

Telling students about meeting Peter Reynolds face to face twice this summer at ISTE and ALA (& sharing photos!)...

Playing Dots on the iPad and projecting to the screen for a Dotty Tournament...

Experimenting with the colAR app & making our dots come to life...

We've also started creating our trading cards to share with other schools

Inspired by Shannon Miller, I'm planning to cover one of our round tables with a big white circle (dot) and have as many students and teachers as possible sign it during our Dot Day celebration week. I want to have a BIG dot for each year we celebrate.

I've also invited teachers to make their own dots so we can begin a Dot Day gallery. Students will try to guess the artist of each staff made dot.

More Dot Day activities and fun will be shared throughout the month!

I hope you'll join us and make your mark! 1,000,000 participants is getting closer and closer!
