#TxLA17 Part 3

On Thursday I woke up SO excited to return to TxLA's conference (and also so RELIEVED because my big day of presenting was past me)! I was thrilled to meet up with my friend Tiffany Whitehead (who had arrived the night before) so we could sit together in the opening keynote...Cory Doctorow! (yep, 2 days in a row of EPIC opening keynote speakers!)
Of course we couldn't resist tweeting to #TxLA17 so we'd make the BIG screen before the opening began!
Can I summarize Cory Doctorow in one word? AMAZING! As a huge fan of his books and website, it was quite a treat to hear him speak and share his world views.
After his keynote, I jumped up to get a ticket to get in line to have him sign BOOKS!
True story: The first time through the line he signed Homeland for me & I didn't ask for a picture. The second time through after purchasing his new book, Walkaway, I wasn't as tongue tied & asked for a picture. ;)
Afterwards I stopped by to hear/see the second half of the panel all about Texas Library Association, their divisions, and programs. My amazing friend Nancy Jo Lambert was a part of it plus I finally got to meet John Trischetti III aka Mr. T Librarian face to face (after following each other on Twitter for 3 1/2 years).
@SherryGick and @MrTlibrarian at the same session! Conference might blow up!#txla17 pic.twitter.com/DQAevYJJzB— John Trischitti III (@MrTlibrarian) April 20, 2017
The rest of the day is a blur but oh my word, if you ever get a chance to attend TLA, do it!
