Book Club

I've been out of the school library now for 3 years.  One of the things I most enjoyed about being a teacher-librarian was sharing books with students and teachers and then talking with them after they finished the book.  Last summer I decided it was time to get back to sharing and talking about books, so I invited a few of my former school colleagues to start a book club with me.

During our first meeting, we set some rules:  what we wanted to read & what we didn't want to read because all book clubs need rules...to break!  Over the last year together we've shared some great conversations, great books, and great food.  But most of all, this group of friends are more than just a book club as we support each other in our endeavors.

In the spirit of our 1 year anniversary, I wanted to curate the list of books we've read and discussed together over the last year.  It's quite the varied list with 4 YA books, 2 memoirs, 1 middle grades book, 1 graphic novel, 1 classic mystery, 1 adult title & 1 hard-core science fiction.  Not all would have been on my to-read list, but I'm glad I took the time to read each title.
