attending ICE-Illinois - #ICE18

Last week I had the privilege of attending the Illinois Computing Educators conference in Schaumburg, Illinois.  It was my first time attending this conference and it did NOT disappoint!  It was actually the first conference I've attended in over six years where I wasn't presenting, working, or volunteering so I took full advantage of being a conference attendee.

I really enjoyed attending sessions and being in full learning mode.  As usual, I recorded my learning via tweets while in sessions and keynote panels.  (View on storify here)

I was thrilled to (finally!) meet Kristen Mattson and get a (signed) copy of her new book!

I also got a copy of Julie Smith's book, Master the Media, from her after her excellent session!

Other highlights from ICE include the evening keynote by Chris Ulmer of Special Books for Special Kids...

...attending sessions led by Alice Keeler and Tom Murray...

...meeting Jen Williams & learning all about her work with Participate and Empatico...

...a fantastic vendor hall with tons of my favorite companies, plenty of room, AND snacks during breaks...

...running into Todd Burleson as we were both "under the radar"...
...other happenstance encounters with friends (yes, sometimes I'm bad & forget to take pics!)...

It was truly quite the memorable conference!

I'm definitely keeping this conference on my list to attend and perhaps even present and share at in 2019.

Many thanks to my company, Five Star Technology Solutions, for recognizing the importance of personal professional development/growth and sending me to this conference.
